This app is an audio interviewing app to help Black people preserve their family’s history, capturing all voices and preserving the stories of those that would otherwise be lost.

Why the app exists

Empowering historians and Storytellers.

Roughly three-quarters (76%) of Black Americans say they have spoken with their relatives to learn about their family history as their primary source. (Pew Research Center, 2022)

Bridging the gap.

Only 34% of Black adults say they have gone online to conduct family history research, while just 15% say they have used a mail-in DNA service. This leaves a significant gap of history that is not captured.

we Tell our stories. our way.

By supporting this large market of Black Americans, we empower Black communities to collect sacred oral histories in a way that is already aligned with the standard practices of the culture.
